Our city faces real pressures, from rising food costs to the ongoing housing crisis. Instead of building us a better future, city hall is freezing property taxes, pushing through an austerity budget, and cutting vital supports.
While Ken Sim claims to be building a world-class city, hundreds of City of Vancouver jobs are on the chopping block, and the many thousands of residents who depend on city services are paying the price. That is a massive step backwards.
We know what better looks like.
A Better Vancouver means strong public services in every neighbourhood, good unionized jobs, and safe, well-maintained public spaces.
Frontline workers are not an expense to be cut. They deliver the core services we all rely on. They are community centre staff, library workers, outreach workers, and sanitation crews. We need to invest in them.
Instead of austerity, we want a better plan.
Public pressure changes outcomes. A Better Vancouver starts when you refuse to accept cuts and decline. Demand a better future for our city. Add your name and send a message to the Mayor and ABC City Councillors today.

City services are what makes living here possible. While our individual living costs are ever increasing, we rely on our services, including library funding. Cuts to services won’t make it more affordable for us. It will increase our individual costs as we’ll have to pay more out of pocket for what should be paid for by our taxes. Cuts slowly make our city a less livable, less desirable place.

I love our libraries as they have made a positive impact on my life, career and well being, as well as for the countless people who rely on them. Hands off. Do a better job.

Vancouver is a world class city and cutting services will injure that image.

We need basic community infrastructure in Vancouver and it is falling apart. You're doing a terrible job at making this city livable for anybody but the richest segments of society. Culture and connection do not come from wealth, they always come from the community at large. Stop defunding community resources.

Vancouver is better when its public services are properly funded. Families and communities rely on free and affordable services and programs.

When I was growing up, libraries were my safe space. Now that I'm an adult I will be voting for the party who supports those places

Libraries are a special place for so many reasons. For kids they are the first "mental playground." For adults, a place of "free community" and many people seek safety and shelter there while also expanding their horizons. We need these "mental community centres" now more than ever in the loud bustling world. They are quiet and comforting, and books are like brain hugs.

We need public third spaces like libraries, parks, and community centres where people can congregate, socialize, and form community. The city needs to invest in our spaces and public workers to make that happen.

Libraries and community centres are hearts of the neigbourhoods. They are one of the ways to nourish young people, and give them affordable ways to spend their time.

I’m supporting because libraries and other community services are the cornerstone of communities and not one-time, million-dollar shiny objects for garnering popularity.

I'm supporting because I want libraries and community centres, parks and gardens. Pools are more important than stadiums . I do not want any more city money spent on international sports.

I'm supporting for all the reasons checked - fund core services, build a fair revenue plan, and invest in prevention. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
